The Model 559 radio was manufactured in 1934. The following is a description
of this model from an Atwater Kent brochure.
MODEL 559-N - Nine Tube A.C. Console - All wave tuning - six section
gang condenser - four distinct tuning ranges - 540 kilocycles to 18
megacycles - two speed tuning - new type full vision dial - improved
11-inch dynamic speaker - newly developed tone-quality selectivity
control - shadow tuning - silent tuning - automatic volume control.
